  Teaching Aids:
  computer and cassette.
  Teaching procedures:
  Ⅰ Warming up
  ★ Brainstorming -what kinds of parties are there?
  Then show some pictures of parties.
  ⅡListening
  Do the exercise 3
  ★In life there are always things worth celebrating such as: passing test, retiring, going to study abroad, getting a job with good salary and so on. And show some pictures of them.
  Before listening, learn the key words first: alcohol, close friends ,hot pot, snacks, present ,reception,, sit-down meal, soft drinks, speech.
  ★Now let’s listen to four people’s speech, judge why each person is celebrating? Before listening, learn the listening strategies first.
  ★Students listen to the cassette twice and note down why each person is celebrating.
  ★ Listen again and try to fill the blanks of the typescripts.

  Ⅲ Writing describe the Spring Festival that they celebrated
  Suppose your brother married a foreign beauty .This year, your sister-in-law will celebrate the Spring Festival with your family. Now, write an E-mail to tell her what your family have and what your family do during the Spring Festival.

  Barbecue活动内容:
  1. 首选的当然是barbecue,欢迎所有的老生和新生,备有各种原料如烤牛排、火腿 鸡肉和各式调料。
  2.有游戏,还有各种球类活动,足球、篮球、网球、飞盘等。
  3.最重要的是,届时差不多每个系都有老生到场,可以向新生传授各种经验,认识很多朋友。
